Last Saturday’s launch of the Summer Series went great! Thanks to all those who showed up and helped out, especially with the pancakes
This coming Saturday, July 7th, we will have the 2nd workshop of the summer series as well as our regularly scheduled free brunch and open peer-to-peer tutoring, which starts at 11am. There will also be a group of folks, during the tutoring and brunch period, beginning to focus on developing our collective capabilities to communicate in American Sign Language (ASL) so we can all be connected with comrades regardless of hearing ability. See Tutoring for a list of what we should currently have capacity for in terms of tutoring and email FreeUniversEity@gmail.com with questions or comments. The workshop details for the day are as follows:
Occupy/Decolonize Personal Safety: Self Defense with the Sensei
Learn some of the time-tested self defense techniques and strategies taught to the Anti-Fascist Working Group of Occupy/Decolonize Seattle. Come prepared for physical activity if you can, otherwise folks are welcome to observe and participate at their own comfort and ability level.
1pm @ the Wildcat Social Center (1105 23rd Ave)
